Camp Capers: Bring your campers to the Michener for an enriching experience!

Program Description:
Enrich your camp's summer program by bringing your campers to the Michener Art Museum. Campers tour the museum galleries, see our beautiful sculpture garden, and work in the art studio to create original works of art. Camp Capers is a two-hour Museum visit where campers and chaperones work with an art educator to explore the art collection and create artwork at the Museum.

Themes:
We focus on portraiture, landscape, abstraction, or sculpture. In addition, there are always special exhibitions at the Museum, and lessons can be designed to explore images and ideas in these exhibitions. Lastly, we can coordinate lessons with themes of particular interest to you and your campers.

Scheduling:
We offer our Camp Capers during regular Museum hours, six days a week (the Museum is closed Mondays). We will arrange a visit to suit your camp schedule.

Lunches:
Extend your visit and have lunch at the Museum. Campers are welcome to eat their lunches in our sculpture garden free of charge. In the event of inclement weather the day of your trip, you may eat indoors. However, there is a $25 fee for using indoor facilities for student lunches which is payable at the time of your visit should the need arise.

Fees:
The program fee of $12 per camper covers the cost of Museum admission, workshop supplies and instruction. There are reduced admission rates for groups larger than 25. One chaperone is admitted free of charge with every six students. Additional chaperones are welcome to join the group at an additional charge of $9.00 per person. Balance of program fees must be paid prior to Museum visit. Embroidered "Explore Through the Art Door" badges are available in the Museum Shop for an additional $3.00, or can be prepaid at time of registration.
