We're seeking responsible teen volunteers ages 14 to 18 to become Counselors-in- Training (CITs) at the James A. Michener Art Museum's many on-site and off-site summer camps.

Volunteering at a Michener camp is a fun way to spend part of your summer and a great way to learn about art, education and art museums. You can also add valuable community service experience to your National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, resume and college applications.

CITs will work with Michener summer camp staff and will gain valuable experience working with children ages 3-13 in an arts classroom setting.

  • CITs will assist teachers in the day-to-day classroom routines—including set-up, the camp session, clean-up and final program or exhibition.
  • CITs may help occasionally with administrative tasks including making copies, checking attendance and gathering materials for lessons.
