April 7 - 23, 2006
Byers Gallery, Doylestown
The Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce celebrated twenty years of
Byers Bucks Fever Art Exhibitions in a very special way. For the first time, the
Chamber partnered with the James A. Michener Art Museum to bring to the
public from April 7th to 23rd, an exhibit of private works of Bucks County's own
artists collected by Bucks County collectors and Chamber members.
In honor of the Byers family's exceptional support of the program over the years,
the Michener Museum agreed to hold the exhibit at the Museum, in the Byers Gallery.
The works included rarely seen paintings by:
Walter Baum,
Rae Sloane Bredin,
Fern I. Coppedge,
John F. Folinsbee,
Daniel Garber,
William L. Lathrop,
Harry Leith-Ross,
M. Elizabeth Price,
Edward. W. Redfield,
George Sotter, and
William Francis Taylor.
The Byers' support of the Art Exhibitions has allowed the Byers Art Exhibition Committee each year to put together an exhibit shining the spotlight on well-known and not as well known, historic and contemporary aspects of Bucks County arts, artists and collections. In recent years, the exhibits have brought together contemporary works of living Bucks County artists in different genres with an Illustrators show, a Printmakers show and a Photography show.
