Pennsylvania Writing and Literacy Project: Partnership with West Chester University
Teachers discover and explore the connections between the visual arts, writing and literature, thanks to an ongoing partnership between the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project at West Chester University and the Michener Art Museum. Open to teachers K-12 across the curriculum, Visualizing Words and Worlds is a summer program that provides teachers with opportunities to read, write, and create art in response to a variety of visual arts and gallery experiences. In addition, contemporary artists conduct art studio workshops for teachers throughout the week . (No previous experience necessary!) Visualizing Words and Worlds is held at the Michener Art Museum every summer and is open to all teachers in the PAWLP service area. Please contact the PAWLP office for current year's program dates. The program carries three graduate credits from WCU. The PA Writing and Literature Project office, 610-436-2202, will handle all registrations. Please do not contact the Museum for registration information.
Educator's Open House
School superintendents, principals, and teachers are invited to attend the Michener Open House events held every fall.
